GRAMMATICALIZATION AND OTHER RELATED PROCESSES

Abstract

The paper will analyze grammaticalization in the context of other processes and its relation to them. On the one hand, it concerns processes of decomposition, creating multi-lexical units (e.g., complex conjunctions, adverbial expressions, complex prepositions, etc.), and, on the other hand, univerbation and "ulexemization." The analysis will encompass the terminological and methodological system of Serbian studies and linguistics, using scientific papers directly or indirectly related to this topic as the primary corpus. The main idea is to provide insight into processes that are gradual and that diverge or converge with the theory of grammaticalization. In this sense, the paper does not bring new insights but rather provides an overview of available literature.
