Abstract

The development and application of information systems (IS) in education enables a personalized approach to learning tailored to the individual needs, abilities and interests of students. Modern digital technologies enable the collection and analysis of data on user progress, which helps to better understand learning styles and the dynamics of learning content adoption. Based on the collected data, the system can recommend appropriate teaching materials, tasks and activities, thus enabling more efficient and flexible learning. Of particular importance is the application of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and learning analytics, which enable adaptive learning and continuous progress monitoring. A study conducted on a sample of 160 students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak, University of Kragujevac, showed that IS significantly improves motivation, understanding of teaching content and learning efficiency, while providing teachers with better insight into student progress and enabling better quality teaching planning. The results of the t-test analysis show that the mean value is statistically significantly different from the reference value (t(160) = 32.5; p < 0.05), which confirms the importance of the impact of the use of IS on the quality and personalization of the educational process. The continuous use of IS in the personalization of education represents a significant step towards the modernization of the educational system and the development of digital learning.
